Rachel is not your average CEO having begun her time at Yumba Bimbi 22 years ago as a volunteer. Over the years she has held various roles within the organisation and took up the position of CEO in 2018. Coming from a background in education, Rachel has always had a keen interest in seeing people reach their full potential. A strong alignment with Yumba Bimbi’s vision, mission and purpose is what has spurred her drive to nurture the organisation, to create impactful change for participants, the YB team and the broader community. For Rachel, developing a positive organisational culture is central to the ongoing success of Yumba Bimbi and central in creating positive outcomes.
As a passionate advocate for quality service provision in rural and remote communities, Rachel is Vice Chair for the National Disability Services Queensland Divisional Committee, holds qualifications across education, Community Services Sector Management, Quality Auditing and is a member of the Australian Institute of Company Directors.
When she’s not at Yumba Bimbi, you will find Rachel happily tending to her garden and quietly enjoying the simple pleasures nature has to offer.
