    Yumba Bimbi is founded.

    Yumba Bimbi is founded by a small group of progressive parents who had a vision and wanted to increase professional and local support options for people with disabilities in rural and remote communities.

    Yumba Bimbi officially opens its first service.  Respite services are delivered from a home donated by YB Community Champions, Kestrel Coal Resources.

    Incorporation status.

    The Steering Committee gains Incorporation status and begins operating as Central Highlands and Western QLD Family Support Association Inc.

    Australia’s Disability Act comes into effect.

  • 2007

    YB launches ‘Respite Support for Older Parent Carers’ project.

  • 2009

    YB’s first round of school-based Trainees complete their Certificate 111 in Community Services.

  • 2009

    Semita House established to expand services to include community access and group programs.

  • 2013

    Three YB participants move into independent living.

    YB rebrands.

    NDIS rolls out in Central Qld.

    YB receives the deeds to 23 Park Avenue.

    ‘The Yumba Yarn’ is launched with its first edition.
