About Yumba Bimbi Support Services

Yumba Bimbi Support Services (Central Highlands and Western QLD Family Support Association) is a values-driven not-for-profit organisation dedicated to supporting people with disability and their families across Central Queensland. We are passionate about making a meaningful difference in the lives of the people we serve.

The Opportunity

We are seeking a motivated and organised Human Resources Administration Officer to join our team on a 12-month fixed-term, part-time basis, covering a period of parental leave. Reporting directly to the HR Coordinator, you will play a vital role in keeping our HR operations running smoothly – from maintaining records and driving compliance to coordinating training and recruitment activities.

This is a fantastic opportunity for someone looking to grow their HR career in a supportive, community-focused environment where every day you contribute to something greater than yourself.

What You’ll Be Doing

  • Documentation & Record-Keeping
  • Maintain and manage all HR documentation including employee records, HR forms, and vehicle maintenance checklists
  • Ensure all records are up to date, stored correctly, and compliant with organisational and legislative requirements
  • Audits & Compliance
  • Conduct routine audits of HR documentation and report outcomes to the HR Coordinator
  • Identify and flag risks or non-compliance issues in a timely manner
  • Training & Recruitment Coordination
  • Book and track First Aid and CPR training for staff; maintain compliance records in Employment Hero
  • Coordinate interview scheduling and reference checks as part of recruitment processes

What we are looking for

  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills — written and verbal — with the ability to engage sensitively across diverse backgrounds
  • High level of discretion and understanding of confidentiality requirements
  • Demonstrated professionalism and personal accountability
  • Understanding of WH&S obligations and NDIS Code of Conduct requirements
  • Active commitment to child safety and knowledge of relevant legislation
  • Cultural competence and experience working with diverse communities
  • Working with Children Check (Blue Card)
  • Criminal History Screening (Yellow Card)
  • Current First Aid and CPR certificate (or willingness to obtain)
  • Current Queensland Driver’s Licence
  • Experience in the disability, community services, or not-for-profit sector
  • Familiarity with NDIS systems and compliance requirements
  • Experience with HRIS platforms, particularly Employment Hero
  • Knowledge of HR processes including recruitment, onboarding, and records management

About You

You are an organised, people-focused administrator with a genuine commitment to supporting human resources functions in a values-driven organisation. You bring strong attention to detail, sound communication skills, and the ability to work both independently and collaboratively. You are motivated by making a meaningful difference and thrive in a dynamic, community-focused environment where continuous improvement is valued.
