We are seeking passionate and dedicated Support Workers to join our team across the Central Highlands Region – including Emerald, Blackwater and the Gemfields.

As a Support Worker, you will play a vital role in empowering children and adults with disability to achieve their individual goals, dreams and aspirations. You’ll support participants to enhance their participation and inclusion in the community through person-centered activities and the development of independent living and social skills.

 This rewarding role involves a broad range of duties from personal care to household tasks and some administrative functions. You’ll work collaboratively with participants, families, health professionals and other organizations to deliver quality, person-centered support. 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide person-centered active support to help participants achieve their individual goals
  • Assist with personal care and activities of daily living
  • Support household tasks and light administrative duties
  • Facilitate community participation, social inclusion and skill development
  • Implement behavior support strategies as required
  • Collaborate effectively with participants, families, health professionals and service providers
  • Maintain accurate documentation and records
  • Promote and uphold the rights and dignity of people with disability

Essential Requirements:

To be successful in this role, you must have or be willing to obtain:

  1. Relevant experience in providing personal support to people with disabilities, including person-centered active support, individual skills development, behavior support and personal care
  2. NDIS Worker Orientation Module – ‘Quality, Safety & You’ (completed)
  3. Current and valid Queensland driver’s licence (C class minimum)
  4. Working with Children Check – Blue Card (or ability to obtain one)
  5. NDIS Worker Screening – Yellow Card (or ability to obtain one)
  6. Current First Aid and CPR certificate (or ability to obtain one)
  7. Demonstrated understanding and commitment to upholding the rights of people with disability
  8. Knowledge of issues affecting people with disability and their support needs
