See YB ChampionsAt Yumba Bimbi, the safety and wellbeing of children and young people always comes first. We are committed to creating an environment where every child feels safe, respected and valued.
At Yumba Bimbi, we promise to keep all children and young people safe, happy, and heard. Here are our 12 promises to you:
We treat everyone fairly and kindly, no matter who you are or how old you
are. Everyone is welcome here.
We’ll teach you about your rights and how to stay safe—in person and online. We’ll explain what help you’ll get from us in a way that makes sense to you.
When it’s safe, we’ll include your family and community in caring for you.
We’ll support you to reach your goals and dreams.
You should always feel safe with us. If anyone is worried about a child’s
safety, they can tell us. We take all concerns seriously and act quickly.
Everyone who works here has been carefully chosen and trained to work
with children and young people.
We’ll ask for your ideas and let you help make decisions about things that affect you.
You can share your thoughts, worries, ideas or complaints with us anytime. What you say matters to us.
Our buildings and online spaces are designed to keep you safe and healthy.
We celebrate Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander culture. All children
can be themselves, share their culture, and feel proud of who they are.
We welcome and support ALL children—including children with disability,
LGBTIQA+ children, and children from different cultural backgrounds.
We regularly check and update our rules to make sure we’re doing the
best job keeping you safe.
For us, being a child safe organisation means more than having policies in place. It means creating a culture where children’s rights and voices guide everything we do. We welcome feedback and we act on concerns with respect and transparency. Creating a child safe culture is ongoing, and we are dedicated to learning, improving and listening so that children can thrive.
